Beauty with Benefits to Fuel Cancer and Careers' COVID-19 Relief Response

May 14, 2020: The annual beauty event on QVC and HSN will help cancer survivors navigate employment during and after the crisis.

WEST CHESTER, Pa., May 22, 2020 – QVC, HSN and Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) are once again joining forces for Beauty with Benefits, a multimedia event that proves a little makeup can make a big difference. The annual fundraising event supports Cancer and Careers, an organization that focuses on a key issue of survivorship – working after a cancer diagnosis. Now in its 8th year, the Beauty with Benefits campaign is particularly timely, as survivors face an ever-more challenging employment landscape, brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The multimedia broadcast event is scheduled to air on Thursday, May 28 from 8 -10 PM (ET) on QVC and 10 PM-12 AM (ET) on HSN. This year’s event will feature 65 brands, including favorites like Laura Geller, IT Cosmetics, WEN by Chaz Dean, bareMinerals, and BECCA, as well as newcomers like Lancôme, Drunk Elephant, Perfect Formula, and more. 80 percent of the purchase price* of donated merchandise benefits Cancer and Careers. As an added incentive, shoppers will receive a special Gift with Purchase – a tote bag of 12 items with a minimum value of $230**, the largest in the event’s history. Each Gift with Purchase tote includes the following five items: IT Cosmetics BBUE Eye Cream, Laura Gellar Nude Kisses Lipgloss, Wen Cleansing Conditioner, Beauty Bio Bright Eyes Eye Mask and KORRES Olive Oil & Peach Blossom Body Cream; as well as an assortment of seven or more additional items from participating vendors.

Providing shoppers with a special opportunity to give back, a portion of the proceeds from this year’s campaign will specifically support Cancer and Careers’ COVID-19 Relief Response, including new educational programs and content. Additionally, up to 500 individual financial grants will be provided to help survivors affected by the crisis. The event will also power the organization’s signature services and expertise, including career counseling and job search support, which are offered year-round.

“The need to work is fundamental,” said Cancer and Careers’ Executive Director, Rebecca Nellis. “We are dedicated to supporting our community and are focused on expanding resources, in real-time, to help them through the current crisis – and beyond.”

To increase awareness for this year’s campaign, Entrepreneur, founder of HSN’s apparel brand, G by Giuliana and breast cancer survivor Giuliana Rancic will appear in both print and television public service announcements.

Beauty with Benefits has raised over $9.5 million since its inception, enjoying momentum and growth year after year.
