We aim to reduce the carbon footprint of our operations by conserving energy and switching to renewable energy sources where possible.
Carbon Footprint
At QVC Group, we understand that climate change is without a doubt one of the most pressing challenges facing the planet and humanity today. As a global company that believes in doing things the right way, we have a responsibility to reduce the impact our operations have on the planet in the creation of greenhouse gas emissions.
- Scope 1: Direct emissions from combustible fuels and other sources that occur directly on-site.
- Scope 2: Emissions that occur off-site to produce electricity or steam purchased for use at a company’s location.
The boundary of our environmental footprint is QVC (all markets), and HSN (Cornerstone Brands are excluded due to lack of available data). This boundary therefore accounts for 90% of QVC Group revenues and was originally conducted in 2018 with a look back at 2017 data for comparison purposes. Given this, we consider our baseline year to be 2018. The coverage of our carbon footprint includes 100% of emissions for scopes 1 and 2. Our carbon footprints for 2018-2024 have been verified by a third party and our assurance statements can be found here.

Scope 1 & 2 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Target
Reduce scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from operations worldwide by 50% by 2030 from a 2018 baseline.

Energy Management Best Practices
Across our global operations, we have achieved significant improvements in energy efficiency from our 2018 baseline through 2024. These results reflect our commitment to energy management and the implementation of targeted reduction initiatives, including:
- Upgrading HVAC systems to high-efficiency models.
- Refurbishing office spaces to optimize energy performance.
- Installing and optimizing a Building Management Systems (BMS) for smarter control.
- Transitioning to 100% LED lighting (internal and external) with advanced sensor technology.
- Deploying detailed metering platforms for real-time monitoring and analytics.
- Expanding renewable energy infrastructure to reduce reliance on grid electricity.
Since 2018, we have installed:
- A 1.1 MW solar system with 2,400 panels on our Knowsley Fulfillment Center roof
- A 571 kW solar system with 1,400 panels at our Brugherio headquarters.
These projects represent a major step toward decarbonizing our operations. Looking ahead, we will continue to explore additional renewable energy opportunities globally.
