QVC Group Recognized as a 2023 “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion”

Awards Inclusion Responsibility
July 11, 2023: Global leader in video commerce receives a score of 100 on the Disability Equality Index® (DEI); listed among “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion” for the second consecutive year.

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – QVC GroupSM, a world leader in video commerce (“vCommerce”) across linear TV, ecommerce sites, streaming experiences and social apps, has earned a top score on the 2023 Disability Equality Index (DEI) and is being recognized as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” for the second consecutive year.

Launched in 2015 by Disability:IN and The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), the DEI is a robust benchmarking tool that helps companies build a roadmap of measurable, tangible actions that they can take to achieve disability inclusion and equality.

In 2023, 485 corporations – including 71 Fortune 100, 207 Fortune 500, and 249 Fortune 1000 – utilized the DEI to benchmark their disability inclusion efforts across the categories of culture and leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices, community engagement, supplier diversity, and non-U.S. operations. QVC Group was among 294 companies who received a score of 100. Top-scoring businesses who scored 80 or higher are recognized as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion.”

“Globally, the disability community represents over one billion people. As a company that connects millions of customers, team members and stakeholders worldwide to our brands and to each other, we embrace our responsibility to foster a culture of diversity, belonging and fairness across the communities in which we live and work,” said Virginia Nguyen, Chief Diversity and Impact Officer at QVC Group. “While there is no ‘finish line’ for this type of work, this distinction is an exciting recognition of our ongoing progress as we continue to build upon current practices and deliver on our mission.”

QVC Group’s ongoing work to champion disability inclusion and equality includes:

  • In March 2023, QVC Group retail brand QVC® announced an expanded commitment to growing its accessible and adaptive assortments, streamlining how customers find and explore products that aid in daily living for the disability community, , and enhancing the accessibility of its end-to-end shopping experience. As a part of this effort, the brand launched a dedicated  Accessible & Adaptive category, spanning hundreds of products across fashion, home, electronics and beauty – making QVC one of the first U.S. retailers to curate the full lifestyle of accessible products into a single multicategory offering.
  • QVC also introduced a new on-air show, “Accessible Living,” which airs monthly and features a curated selection of essential products across mobility, personal care, health maintenance, culinary and electronics that are demonstrated through the brand’s video commerce model to show how they can simplify everyday tasks and promote independent living.
  • This July, in honor of Disability Pride Month, QVC Group will be highlighting its assortment of adaptive and accessible products across linear TV, ecommerce sites, streaming experiences and social apps.
  • QVC Group recently announced its partnership with Disability:IN, joining over 400 other corporations dedicated to advancing disability inclusion in the workplace.
  • In 2022, QVC Group joined  The Valuable 500, a global business collective made up of 500 CEOs and their companies, innovating together for disability inclusion.

“Businesses have the power to drive the global advancement of disability inclusion, and we’re thrilled to see more companies than ever leverage the Disability Equality Index to measure their progress. We recognize these top-scoring companies as a ‘Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion’ for their passion and efforts to lead the way in creating greater equity for people with disabilities in the workplace, marketplace, and supply chain,” said Jill Houghton, President and CEO of Disability:IN.
